Cann Bridge school (formerly known as Downham School in Plymstock) is a special school for pupils aged 3-19 who have severe learning difficulties

The school is purpose built and opened in September 2012 on the Tor Bridge Partnership site.

The Partnership consists of four individual schools Tor Bridge High, Tor Bridge Primary and Plym Bridge Nursery each of whom share some of the many amazing resources such as state of the art sports facilities, small animal farm and the solar dome and large community library.

The Tor Bridge Partnership seeks to provide all learners and partners with opportunities to fulfil their life chances and aspirations within an environment that is:

  • Innovative and creative
  • Inclusive and caring
  • Outward and upward looking
  • Keen to celebrate all achievement and all types of learning
  • A happy place full of self confident people and a centre that values all

This website seeks to share the successes of our students with the wider community, to provide valuable information to parents, to offer a place where children can have fun and to share some of our many resources with others

To enable every child and young person to develop a strong sense of themselves and their talents in the context of the learning community.

To empower every learner to access opportunities, support and experiences that suit their unique aspirations, goals and talents so that everyone is able to make real choices about what they learn, when and how they learn it, promoting a learner centred and personalised approach to learning.

To ensure a curriculum that is broad and balanced, vibrant and diverse, innovative, relevant and exciting, balancing real world experiences with school based opportunities.
