Post Bridge College Teachers

Welcome! We’re Emma, Kate and Jennie, the teaching team at Post Bridge College.

We are passionate about delivering a curriculum that prioritises the development of independence, life skills and employability, supporting our learners to gain the confidence, knowledge and resilience they need to navigate everyday life and prepare for adulthood.

One of the areas we are most proud of is supporting our young people to develop work-related learning skills. Through meaningful, hands-on experiences, learners gain practical knowledge and valuable employability skills that help prepare them for future education, training and employment opportunities. We also place great importance on developing social and life skills, equipping learners with the tools to build positive relationships, communicate effectively and successfully manage real-world situations.

We love welcoming new learners each September and supporting them as they settle into Post Bridge College. Whilst December brings excitement and celebration, July is one of our favourite times of the year. It is a month filled with achievement, reflection and pride as we celebrate our learners' journeys and share in their successes. Seeing the progress they make during their time with us is incredibly rewarding, and we always enjoy hearing about their achievements after they move on to their next destinations.

As a team, we take great pride in helping our learners develop the confidence, independence and skills they need for adulthood. We are privileged to play a role in nurturing each learner's unique strengths, supporting them to thrive and preparing them for a bright and successful future.

Emma Vinnicombe

I began my career teaching Art and Design in a mainstream setting, where I spent over 20 years developing expertise in fostering creativity, self-expression and critical thinking. In 2021, I made the transition into specialist education, where I have developed a deep understanding of adapting teaching and learning to meet the diverse needs of every learner.

Since joining Cann Bridge School, I have taught across Key Stages 2, 3, 4 and now Key Stage 5. I am deeply committed to supporting every learner to achieve their full potential and firmly believe that high expectations, combined with the right support and opportunities, enable young people to thrive.

My approach is centred on building positive relationships and creating a nurturing, inclusive environment where learners feel valued, confident and empowered to succeed. I am passionate about recognising and celebrating each learner's unique strengths, helping them to develop the skills, resilience and independence they need for the future.

Alongside my teaching responsibilities, I lead the Creativity and The Arts Curriculum Team. In this role, I have developed an innovative and ambitious curriculum designed to inspire imagination, encourage self-expression and nurture artistic talent. Working closely with colleagues, I am committed to ensuring that our creative curriculum provides rich and meaningful learning experiences that engage learners and foster a vibrant culture of creativity across the school.
