9Cann Class Teacher

PE Coordinator

Hello, I'm James. I have been a Class Teacher at Cann Bridge School since 2020 and successfully completed my Early Career Teacher (ECT) induction during my time here. Since joining the school, I have had the privilege of teaching across Key Stages 2, 3 and 4, gaining valuable experience of supporting learners at different stages of their educational journey.

I currently teach a Key Stage 4 class comprising learners accessing both the formal and semi-formal pathways, with a strong focus on subject-specific learning. I am passionate about creating engaging, inclusive learning opportunities that enable every learner to develop their knowledge, skills and independence, whilst preparing them for the next stage of their education and future life beyond school.

Alongside my classroom responsibilities, I am proud to serve as the school's Physical Education (PE) Lead. Promoting physical activity, teamwork and healthy lifestyles is something I care deeply about, and I am committed to ensuring that all learners have access to high-quality PE and sporting opportunities. I am particularly proud to have contributed to the school's achievement of the School Games Gold Mark Award, recognising our commitment to excellence in physical education and sport.

I enjoy organising and leading a range of sporting events throughout the year, including inter-school competitions, participation in the Plymouth Schools Challenge Half Marathon, and our annual Sports Day. These experiences provide learners with opportunities to develop confidence, resilience, teamwork and a lifelong enjoyment of physical activity.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, maintaining a healthy work-life balance and making the most of opportunities to relax and recharge.
